The City of Kajaani has a permanent vacancy for a special class teacher (0098) in basic education, starting from August 1, 2026. Placement at Lohtajan School. Lohtajan School is a primary school for grades 1-6 with approximately 300 students. Next fall, the teaching staff will include 15 class teachers, one lecturer, two special education teachers, two special class teachers, two support teachers for multilingual students, one preparatory education teacher, and now a new special class teacher. We are looking for a responsible, enthusiastic, development-oriented, and collaborative professional. Previous experience in special education teaching is considered an advantage. The salary is in accordance with OVTES. The salary for a qualified special class teacher according to the qualification level is €3,029.51-€3,243.27. The qualification requirement is the qualification for a special class teacher (as per the regulations on qualifications for education personnel, decree no 986/1998). Certificates proving qualification will be checked during the interview if applicable. In the absence of qualified applicants, other candidates may be considered, and the position may be filled temporarily. Priority will be given to employees of Kajaani city who are under layoff threat or work suspension, provided they meet the qualification requirements.
