Approximately 950 students and over 100 staff work at our school daily. In addition to general education, Jokiniemi School offers small group instruction, workshop teaching, and education for children with autism and severe developmental disabilities. According to Jokiniemi School’s own work guidelines, we have always been a neighborhood school for all children, where each student can learn and grow at their own developmental stage and according to their abilities. Children learn to evaluate their own work with adult support. Diversity among our staff is a strength. A full-time, permanent position (class teacher) is available at Jokiniemi School, initially in early primary education. The role involves close collaboration with preschool and early primary education. We implement learning-supportive teaching arrangements through cooperation across grade levels and subjects, such as salary hours, joint planning, and flexible grouping. As a comprehensive school, we value dual qualifications or the ability to teach certain subjects in grades 7-9. Additional information and recruitment process: Based on the number of students speaking languages other than Finnish (S2), additional pay of 165.20 euros/month may be granted to qualified teaching staff.
