South Savo Welfare Area Eloisa is seeking a school nurse for a fixed-term employment in school health services in Mikkeli from August 3, 2026, to March 31, 2027. The school nurse acts as an expert in promoting health within the school community, working together with the school doctor and other student health service staff. The role involves comprehensive promotion and support of the health and well-being of children, adolescents, and families. Collaboration with other social and health care professionals and school staff is an essential part of the job. The position is located at Mikkeli Lyseo middle school. We are looking for a school nurse who can meet students as a caring and safe adult. The qualification requirement is a degree in public health nursing or a previous polytechnic-level degree, along with a license issued under the Act on Health Care Professionals (559/94). Prior experience in school and student health services and/or working with children and adolescents is considered an advantage. The position requires vaccination protection as per Section 48 of the Infectious Diseases Act and a health status report regarding tuberculosis of the respiratory system as per Section 55. Working with children requires an acceptable criminal record extract as per Section 3 of the Act on Background Checks (504/2002) before starting employment. A probationary period applies.
