Substitutes for early childhood education teachers, child caregivers, and special early childhood education assistants may be for durations ranging from a single day to longer fixed-term positions. You can be a professional trained in the field or a student nearing the completion of your early childhood education studies. We require applicants to be at least 18 years old and to have sufficient Finnish language skills for the position. This does not qualify for summer jobs. Before substitutes and work assignments are offered, you must arrange an interview with the Head of Early Childhood Education Services after submitting your application. You will receive further information about the interview in the "thank you message to the applicant". Individuals working with children and youths under 18 must present a criminal background check in accordance with section 6.2 of the Criminal Records Act before starting employment. If the degree has been completed abroad, an official Finnish translation of the degree certificate must be attached to the application. Applicants are responsible for updating their application and contact information. Keeping contact and availability details current is a prerequisite for being offered substitutes.
