The activities are based on close cooperation with guardians. The early childhood education social worker is responsible for ensuring the well-being, sense of community, and participation of the children’s group, as well as multidisciplinary network cooperation related to the well-being of the child and family. The social worker works in a children’s group as a partner to the early childhood education teacher and child caregiver, and participates in pedagogical work within a multidisciplinary team. The social worker promotes and guides the well-being of children and families. Work is carried out multidisciplinary with children and families. In Kerava, the activities are supported by the daycare director, early childhood education teachers, child caregivers, regional special education teachers, language and culture teachers, family coordinators, and early childhood education assistants. Kerava’s early childhood education structures are well-established. The daycare units are of a suitable size, staffing resources are good, and substitute arrangements function well. The city has a defined role for the early childhood education social worker, which has been evaluated and developed during the 2023-2024 operational year. We have effective tools for evaluation and development. Our operations reflect the values of Kerava city: humanity, participation, and courage. We are easy to approach, with the daycare director and staff close to each other. We celebrate successes together and support each other. Kerava values its staff, and benefits include clothing allowance (€150/year), staff rotation, TSA allowances for good work (max €111/month), and meal benefits. Success requires good communication skills, sensitivity, and knowledge of family services. We expect you to recognize and observe factors affecting the well-being of children and families, and to have the ability to strengthen participation and network cooperation. We offer opportunities to utilize your special skills and grow your expertise through diverse professional training in Kerava. We support staff training and autonomous learning. You will be working with an enthusiastic and energetic team of professionals. Kerava is a small big city with a manageable environment and close cooperation. The city provides good conditions for education and development. Qualifications are based on the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018), Chapter 6. Salary is €3036.35–€3097.85 (level salary levels A-C), and other terms of employment are according to KVTES. The level salary is reviewed twice a year. A six-month probation period applies. In the absence of qualified applicants, we also consider students and other candidates without formal qualifications, with employment limited to a maximum of one year. Before accepting the position, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract issued under the Criminal Records Act (770/1993, section 6, paragraph 2), based on the Act on Background Checks for Persons Working with Children (504/2002). For those working with preschool children, a tuberculosis screening will be conducted (Communicable Diseases Act § 55).
