We are looking for an enthusiastic and development-oriented Project Manager / Business Specialist to join our team at the Business Service Center in Kalajoki region. This is a fixed-term position from May 1, 2026, to March 31, 2028, responsible for implementing the VASKI - Responsible Circular Economy in Kalajoki region project. In your work, you will contact companies smoothly and actively operate within the business community in the Kalajoki region. You will assist local companies in developing circular economy, low-carbon solutions, and responsible business practices through practical tools, pilot projects, and tailored coaching. As a project manager, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and practical implementation of the VASKI project during 2026-2028. You will work closely with companies, educational institutions, development organizations, and the project manager of the Raahe region parallel project. Key responsibilities - Overall coordination, scheduling, and goal tracking of the project - Coaching companies on circular economy, responsibility, and carbon footprint themes - Planning and implementing circular economy and responsibility training, workshops, and clinics - Preparing and guiding company-specific development plans and pilot projects - Coordinating collaboration with companies, educational institutions, and development organizations - Building the regional VASKI network and organizing co-creation events - Implementing project communication, reporting, and documentation - Working with the steering group and stakeholder collaboration Requirements for applicants - Understanding of especially SME business operations - Knowledge of circular economy, responsibility, and low-carbon solutions - Suitable educational background - Good communication, interaction, and networking skills - Active and analytical work approach Preferred qualifications - Project experience (e.g., ERDF or ESR projects) - Experience in responsibility reporting, ESG, circular solutions, or carbon footprint calculation - Ability to conduct training, facilitate workshops, and practically guide companies - Experience in business, economic, or regional development - Experience in building networks or collaboration platforms - Experience in educational cooperation or R&D environments We offer - The opportunity to lead a significant and tangible clean transition development project - A unique perspective on business development, circular economy, and responsibility - A broad cooperation network (companies, educational institutions, municipalities, development organizations) - The chance to influence regional vitality and company renewal - A skilled and encouraging work community - The benefits of a stable employer with the City of Kalajoki We provide a versatile and practical role in developing business activities together with pleasant clients and colleagues. The salary level will be adjusted according to the skills and experience of the selected candidate, ranging from €3,600 to €4,244 per month.
