Are you looking to take the next or possibly your first step in tramway design and join increasingly diverse and demanding projects supported by an experienced team? In this role, you will work as a tramway designer within the tramway and urban infrastructure planning. You will learn the daily work of design and leave your mark on solutions visible in the cityscape for decades. Our work is done with a flat hierarchy and open atmosphere, where questions are always welcome, help is quick to arrive, and work is carried out together in a relaxed but professional manner. You will participate in street design and urban environment solutions as part of a multidisciplinary team, learning to collaborate with municipal engineering, geotechnics, and urban environment designers, with responsibilities growing gradually with mentoring and peer support. You will be involved in projects where expert insight truly matters, and solutions are developed in close cooperation with various technical disciplines. The role involves designing tramways as part of project teams, creating plans and drawings, compiling data, performing design modeling, and producing materials using software such as Novapoint and AutoCAD. You will participate in coordination with other technical disciplines, justify and document design solutions, and participate in meetings and workshops. You will develop your skills and take on more responsibility gradually. You will be involved in significant projects like Vantaa tram, Vaarala depot, and Helsinki infrastructure programs including Länsiratikat, Länsisatama light rail, and Viikki–Malmi light rail. The ideal background includes a suitable engineering (AMK) or DI degree (e.g., infrastructure, urban engineering, traffic routes, track or street design), with interest in tram, track, and street design. Previous internship or project experience is a plus, but the desire to learn and grow is most important. Knowledge of design software basics or willingness to learn (e.g., Novapoint and AutoCAD) and good teamwork skills are essential. Safety and work permits are a plus but not expected to be already obtained. The workplace can be in Helsinki or Tampere, with part-time remote work possible.
