Welcome to our team in eastern/northern Lapland student welfare! We are seeking a psychologist for student welfare for a permanent position starting on August 3, 2026, or by agreement. The workplace is located in Kemijärvi in the eastern area. Psychologists working in student welfare are part of multidisciplinary teams at their respective educational institutions. In your work, you will provide psychological expertise to early childhood education and schools, promoting the well-being and safety of students and the school community, as well as fostering a positive learning environment. The scope of work extends from preschool and basic education to secondary education. In Lapland, the goal of a student welfare psychologist's work is not only to cope under pressure but also to develop credible means to promote learning and well-being and prevent problems, as well as to implement these in everyday practice. Our expectations for your role as a student welfare psychologist include: - Bringing psychological expertise to the community work of educational institutions and assessing and developing the functionality of community work. - Consulting, advising, and guiding children and young people on development, mental health, and well-being issues within schools and educational institutions. - Assessing, advising, and guiding students' mental well-being. - Evaluating issues related to the development, school attendance, and learning of children and young people, planning and implementing support measures in collaboration with students, guardians, and educational staff. - Planning, implementing, and preparing recommendations and statements on psychological methods and assessment data. For more experienced employees, opportunities to utilize your accumulated work experience and develop your skills in both community and individual work. - Support and flexibility in work, including supervision, flexible working hours, and remote work options. WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM YOU: - Eligibility to practice as a licensed psychologist. The position is subject to a 6-month probationary period. Regarding staff vaccination, we follow the vaccination requirements under the law on infectious diseases. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract related to working with children (Act 504/2002) before starting the position.
