Työtehtävän kuvaus
We offer a responsible and versatile position within the vocational education environment. The teacher's duties focus on teaching and guidance in basic, vocational, and specialized vocational qualifications in mechanical and production engineering. The work includes teaching practical tasks in the workshop, theory instruction via face-to-face, remote, or blended learning, and possibly supervising workplace learning. We require relevant degree and at least three years of work experience in the field, pedagogical studies, a driving license (car), hot work permit and occupational safety card, good practical welding skills (stick, MIG, MAG, TIG), ability to teach parts of the welding qualification, sheet metal work skills, good interaction and collaboration skills, excellent Finnish and good English language skills, educational approach and strong pedagogical competence, ability to plan and implement training in a work-oriented manner, good organizational skills, good digital pedagogical skills related to, among other things, the use of the study management system and online teaching, commitment and a developmental approach to work, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changes. Preferred qualifications include teaching experience in a vocational institution, completion of welding classes for teaching, IWE and/or IWS certifications, IWI certification, knowledge of safety issues, good practical teaching and guidance skills, good teamwork skills, and an independent work approach. Teacher qualification requirements are determined according to the Decree on the Qualification Requirements for Teaching Staff (986/1998). If the qualification is lacking, the position can be filled temporarily for up to one year, or for 1-3 years if only pedagogical studies are missing and the person has been accepted to study these. As safety is one of our values, we require staff to present a drug test certificate in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Privacy in Working Life (759/2004) and a criminal background check in accordance with the Act on the Background Checks of Persons Working with Children (504/2002). The pre-employment health check and drug test will be conducted after the start of the job during the probation period. The employee is responsible for obtaining the criminal background check. The position belongs to the Process and Technology unit. The supervisor is the unit's training manager Juhani Nygren. The primary work locations are either Rauma (Satamakatu 19 C) or Pori (Professorintie 5 C). We follow the collective agreement for educational staff in the private sector (OTES). The position has a probation period of 6 months.
