The role involves managing four teams: developer tooling, observability enablement, performance enablement, and development analytics. The candidate will build a Kubernetes-first platform supporting cloud and on-prem deployments, guiding technical and organizational decisions, and fostering a remote team environment. Responsibilities include leading engineering teams, driving platform vision, guiding technical decisions, managing team health, developing roadmaps, and supporting AI adoption. Ideal candidates have experience leading remote teams, strong Kubernetes knowledge, familiarity with Helm and containerized delivery, experience with on-prem environments, and skills in performance management and coaching. The team owns key parts of GitLab's developer experience, working asynchronously across regions to improve workflows and standards. The salary range for the US is $168,000 - $285,600 USD.
