South Savo Wellbeing Services Eloisa is seeking a practical nurse for a summer substitute position in Mäntyharju home care from the start date to 30.9.2026. Interviews and selections may be made during the application period. Mäntyharju home care employs 32 professionals and serves approximately 120 clients monthly. The primary work location is Mäntyharju home care, but shifts may be assigned to other Eloisa home care units in nearby municipalities as needed. We value a positive attitude towards working in different areas. The practical nurse’s work in home care involves comprehensive client care and services. It includes medical services, rehabilitation, and assistance with daily activities. The role involves assessing the client’s care and service needs. Home care is provided by multidisciplinary teams where the practical nurse and nurse jointly manage client care according to care and service plans. The goal is to support the client’s functional capacity and independence so they can live safely at home for as long as possible. Practical nurses work in shifts, but currently there is no need for night shifts. We are looking for a cooperative, flexible, and development-oriented professional. Nursing skills are considered an advantage. You will have support from the Situation Center for care needs assessment and safety issues around the clock. We use a needs-based operational model aimed at high-quality customer service, employee well-being, and operational efficiency. In home care, we use the Hilkka management system and the LifeCare patient information system. Qualifications include a relevant social and health care vocational qualification or an earlier professional qualification in the field, and registration in the Valvira professional register. We also consider applications from practical nurse and nurse students. (Practical nurse students must have completed at least 95 competence points from vocational modules with proof, and nursing students must have completed 4.5 competence points in medication administration with proof.) The role requires completed LOVE medication administration online courses and exams, which can be completed at the start of employment. A driver’s license is essential, and vehicle use is an advantage. Good oral and written Finnish language skills are also required. The role requires vaccination against infectious diseases as per the Communicable Diseases Act §48 and a health statement regarding tuberculosis as per §55. A trial period applies. Applicants working with the elderly must present an acceptable criminal record extract before starting work if the employment exceeds three months (Valvira Act 741/2023 §28).
