The socionom works this school year in a group with children aged 1–3 years. We have good experience of multi-professional teams consisting of teachers, a socionom and child caregivers and are eager to continue developing work with building strong teams where we leverage each staff member’s strengths. As a socionom in early childhood education, you play a central role in supporting children’s social and emotional development. You work in an inclusive and stimulating environment where all children can thrive as their best selves. You are responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating and developing the group’s activities that promote social development and community. You are also responsible for referrals to family services, support for peer activities among families, and ensuring the team works according to the team agreement. At the start with us you will receive a mentor who introduces you to your tasks to ensure a good start. We actively work to strengthen collaboration both between groups and within the whole day care; your competence is valued as an asset in developing cross-group collaboration. You will also be part of the socionom network within Esbo city, where all socionoms regularly gather for collegial support and joint development of the socionom’s task within early childhood education. In the neighboring group a socionom works in early childhood education. Westends Daycare has seven child groups in two buildings on the same plot. We offer a feeling of working in a small unit, while benefiting from being part of a larger whole. We have four groups for children aged 1–3 years and three groups for children aged 4–5 years. We offer a structured and supportive work environment where socionoms and child caregivers also have planning time outside the group. We have two daycare assistants who help with everyday tasks, e.g. hanging wet clothes and setting the table for meals, so you can focus on the group. The daycare is located near nature, a stone’s throw from both forest and sea, but with good public transport connections and easy access to Mattby and Hagalund. We actively explore our local environment and arrange pedagogical activities outside the day care. Workplace and address: Westends Daycare, Hirbölevägen 1 B, 02160 Esbo. Working hours: 38h 15min / week. The job is permanent from 7 January 2027 or earlier by agreement. Collective agreement: AKTA General municipal service and employment collective agreement. Eligibility requirements: The eligibility conditions for posts as a socionom in early childhood education are at least a vocational higher education degree in health and social fields including at least 60 credits in studies focusing on early childhood education and social pedagogy, and further regulations may be issued by the government or socionom degree completed with such studies (540/2018). Excellent oral and written knowledge of Swedish. In recruitment, socionoms in early childhood education who are close to graduation are also considered. We assume: The chosen candidate will present a criminal background check under 6 § 2 mom. of the Criminal Records Act (770/1993). The Infectious Diseases Act requires to examine the risk of tuberculosis infection among employees in the social- and health care sector and those working with children of school age.
