The Sallan War and Reconstruction Era Museum is a locally significant cultural history museum in Eastern Lapland and an integral part of the educational services of the municipality of Salla. We are seeking a MUSEUM ASSISTANT for a fixed-term position from August 17, 2026, to August 15, 2027. The Museum Assistant works in public services, responsible for the museum's opening, customer service, and the museum shop and café. Tasks also include guiding visitors, producing events, marketing, and assisting with exhibition production and collection work. Applicants are required to have a suitable higher education degree, customer service experience, and fluent Finnish and English language skills. An advantage is a degree in museum-related fields (e.g., history, archaeology, ethnology), studies in museology, work experience in the museum sector, and knowledge of the region's history. We value customer-oriented attitude, independence, responsibility, and creativity. The role may require working evenings and weekends. Our museum holds a Green Key environmental certification and the Sustainable Travel Finland mark, and we hope applicants are interested in developing environmental and sustainability themes. Salary and other employment conditions are based on the municipal collective agreement (KVTES). A 4-month probation period applies. Before starting, a medical certificate and original copies of educational and employment certificates must be submitted.
