The Forest Centre is an active implementer of forestry development projects. These projects promote diverse and sustainable use of forests, business activities, and biodiversity. The Kainuu and North Ostrobothnia regions' maintenance and management of private roads are supported through the KAiPPaTiesit project, which activates road associations, improves road conditions, and promotes cooperation among associations. The project employs a project manager and a project specialist. The KAiPPaTiesit information dissemination project is funded by the North Ostrobothnia Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment from the Rural Development Fund. The project is carried out in North Ostrobothnia and Kainuu, with a duration from August 1, 2026, to October 31, 2028. Your tasks include: - As the project manager for the KAiPPaTiesit project, responsible for the project's finances, implementation according to plan, steering group work, and reporting. - Producing training materials. - Planning and actively communicating project themes. - Preparing and conducting information sessions for forest owners, active road associations, and companies. Providing training yourself. - Collaborating with stakeholders. We expect you to have: - Appropriate education, such as a forestry engineer or forester. - Knowledge or experience related to private roads. - Communication skills. - Good oral and written Finnish language skills. - Good interaction skills. - Initiative. - Active work attitude. - Ability to work independently and with goals. Additionally, it is an advantage if you have: - Experience in project work. - Good teamwork skills. - Negotiation skills. - Presentation skills. - Knowledge of Kainuu and/or North Ostrobothnia and its actors. - Customer orientation. - Willingness to travel and ability to use your own car. At the Forest Centre, you will become part of a national network of experts. Your supervisor will be a Business Manager. You will work with a project specialist, and supported by forestry, communication, and training experts, as well as project secretaries and the finance team. Salary is determined according to the Forest Centre's collective agreement, salary group 8, with a base salary of €3,544.60/month. Additional performance-based personal pay may be paid, typically 0-15% of the base salary for new employees. Your workplace will be at the Forest Centre's Oulu or Kajaani office. The employment is fixed-term from August 3, 2026, to October 31, 2028, due to the project’s temporary nature. The work begins on August 3, 2026, or as agreed. The Forest Centre also collects and shares information about Finnish forests and monitors compliance with forest legislation.
