Our teams develop scalable cloud-native systems enabling connected fleets, remote monitoring, intelligent maintenance, and AI-driven experiences. We work in a hybrid model so there’s possibility to work remotely couple of days a week. As a Senior Lead SW Developer, AI/ML Engineering you will play a key role in bringing AI and Generative AI capabilities into production-grade digital services. The role combines software engineering, data platforms, and applied AI, enabling you to work across multiple use cases and projects within KONE Digital Services. What you’ll do Design and develop AI-enabled features and services across digital platforms Integrate AI/ML and Generative AI models into backend systems and applications Build and maintain end-to-end AI solutions (data pipelines → model → APIs → production systems) Evaluate and experiment with different AI models and architectural approaches (e.g., prompt-based, retrieval-based, fine-tuning where applicable) Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and reliable in production environments Deploy, monitor, and optimize services in AWS cloud platforms Collaborate across software, data, and product teams to deliver impactful solutions What we’re looking forExperience in software development with PythonHands-on experience with AI/ML and Generative AI (prompt engineering, embeddings, RAG concepts, Guardrails & Evals, Agentic AI)Experience building APIs and integrating services into production environmentsFamiliarity in building vector databases in AWSFamiliarity in building observability in Generative AI solutionsFamiliarity with AWS Cloud & Key Services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Bedrock, OpenSearch)Knowledge of databases and data processing (SQL/NoSQL)Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern development practicesStrong collaboration and communication skillsNice to haveExperience working with data platforms such as Databricks (or similar)Background in data science, analytics, or applied machine learningExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, or microservices architecturesFor additional information, please contact Chapter Lead, Maintenance Experience Markus Mettälä markus.mettala@kone.com We offerYou will be working with highly dynamic teams significantly investing time and effort on how we develop our products, services, and solutions.
