Sunan School is an elementary school located in Central Espoo with a communal and warm culture. Collaboration, shared responsibility, and good manners are evident in daily life. After relocation years, we will return in August 2026 to an expanded and renovated school building. The new pedagogically supportive facilities provide excellent conditions for learning support, co-teaching, and daily development. A strong element of community building at Sunan School is its choir, which includes over half of our students. We are seeking a versatile special education teacher for the upcoming school year to work with grades 4-6. The position is a temporary appointment, which may continue into the spring semester. We are looking for a skilled and motivated special education teacher who naturally functions as part of a communal school. Next school year, the school will have two special education teachers and two general education class teachers. Additionally, two remedial education classes will start. You will be part of a large learning support team. We do not leave you alone — support and pedagogical development are done together with others. The employment begins on August 10, 2026, with orientation for new employees. This workplace is accessible. Salary: According to OVTES. The base salary is determined by the individual's education, with additional pay based on the complexity of the task. Teacher qualifications are determined according to the decree no 986/98 on the qualifications of education personnel. According to section 9 of the decree, a primary school teacher must have excellent oral and written skills in Finnish. In fixed-term positions, we also consider non-qualified applicants. The position requires: - Good cooperation and interaction skills and readiness for teamwork - Skills in planning and implementing teaching arrangements that support learning conditions - Readiness to plan and implement learning support tailored to students' individual needs - Ability to act as pedagogical support within the school community The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as specified in the Criminal Records Act section 6.2.
