We are looking for a financial controller with knowledge of municipal finance and an analytical approach. The financial management unit operates within the finance and strategy service area, responsible for preparing the city’s budget and financial plan, reporting, annual financial forecasts, as well as developing and coordinating service network planning. The team consists of 7 specialists. Your tasks include - participating in the renewal of the financial system from planning and reporting perspectives - managing and developing the main functions of the financial planning system - analyzing the economic impact of employment services measures - producing analyses and insights to support decision-making - participating in the city’s budget process - developing financial management processes in collaboration with departments and experts. The position is located in Tikkurila with good transportation connections, and your workspace will be at Vantaa City Hall. Vantaa offers hybrid work, allowing remote work for half of the working hours. We expect you to have - a suitable university degree - sufficient familiarity and practical experience with municipal finance - previous experience in responsible financial management tasks - an analytical work approach and ability to understand broad entities - interest in financial systems and their development - good collaboration and communication skills - proactive and developmental attitude - fluent oral and written communication skills in Finnish. Preferred qualifications include - participation in financial system transition processes - experience in implementing and developing financial systems - experience in impact assessment - experience in similar expert roles in municipal or other public organizations - strong Excel and digital tool skills.
