Finnair Technical Operations ensures the continuous airworthiness of Finnair’s fleet, which is maintained according to approved maintenance schedules. Component Maintenance, part of Finnair Technical and the Component Maintenance Services unit, provides maintenance services for aircraft components to both internal and external customers. We are now hiring for the composite repair workshop for the Component Mechanic role. As a component mechanic, you will independently perform composite repairs on aircraft and aircraft parts, including damage analysis, surface grinding, lamination, patching, and heat treatments. Precision, thoroughness, and quality documentation are emphasized. Work is performed according to instructions, with comprehensive training provided. After training, you will be authorized to work independently supported by the team. The role suits you if you are precise, enjoy physical work, and can work independently in a team. No previous experience in aerospace maintenance or composite repairs is required, but experience as an aircraft mechanic, carpenter, or composite assembler working with 3D structures and materials is valued. The position is permanent, with day shifts starting in autumn 2026. The work involves repairing composite components of aircraft according to approved instructions, completing maintenance documentation, opening and closing work orders, reporting issues, consulting specialists, maintaining a tidy work environment, and participating in process development. Requirements include good manual skills, meticulousness, ability to follow English instructions and aviation standards, eagerness to learn, teamwork skills, initiative, fluent Finnish and English, at least 18 years old, and a clean background suitable for airport environment. Technical or aerospace maintenance background is preferred, with experience in composites and basic aircraft training being an advantage.
