Greetings from the Manager: “As a member of our safety and environment department, you will maintain a high environmental and safety culture and work to continuously improve it. You focus on efficient processes in collaboration with other departments and monitor the implementation of necessary measures. As an environmental engineer, you are familiar with the requirements and legal frameworks and support the operation of our facilities in compliance with permits and environmental protection.” – Robert Sachse, Process Safety Manager. Your tasks include ensuring compliance with quality, environmental, and occupational safety standards, participating in the creation and optimization of SOPs, work instructions, and process descriptions, identifying, assessing, and reporting deviations, and implementing improvement measures. You will oversee and coordinate permit and license processes, support the development and implementation of environmental and sustainability strategies (including KPI reporting, waste, and energy management), plan, conduct, and accompany internal and external environmental audits, advise management on environmental issues and legal requirements, identify and minimize risks in the environmental and permit environment, and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners and authorities. You bring a completed degree preferably in chemical or environmental engineering, with 3 to 7 years of relevant work experience, solid knowledge of legal environmental regulations and standards, experience with official procedures especially in permit applications and follow-up, willingness to take on the role of waste and/or hazardous goods officer, project management experience, strong team and communication skills, analytical thinking, an entrepreneurial approach, very good German and good English skills in speaking and writing.
