Structural Designer

As a structural designer, you will work as part of project teams where projects and workdays vary. One project may be extensive and include a lot of repetitive design work, while the next may be a smaller, faster-paced assignment. The work combines preparing plans, working with building information models, and calculating structures. At the beginning of your career, you will mainly focus on the design tasks assigned to you, and as your skills develop, your range of responsibilities will expand. Tasks include preparing structural plans; designing and calculating structures; working with building information models; and developing design solutions together with the project team. Projects may include residential apartment buildings or industrial buildings. Project size and nature vary, so the tasks also change depending on the project. We are looking for a structural designer with some previous experience in structural design who wants to take the next step in developing their expertise. The position suits someone who wants to design different kinds of buildings without becoming locked into an overly narrow specialisation. We expect suitable education in construction (MSc in Technology or a university of applied sciences engineering degree), preferably around two to five years of structural design experience, good structural engineering skills, building information modelling skills such as Tekla Structures and/or Revit, familiarity with CAD and calculation software, and a customer-oriented, collaborative way of working. Fluent Finnish is essential and good English is needed. Swedish language skills are an advantage. If required by a client project, a security clearance may be conducted during employment. An approved security clearance is a condition for continuing the employment relationship.
