Would you like to help build smooth and safe infrastructure that directly affects people’s everyday lives? As our team grows, we are looking for a Construction Site Manager for Destia’s railway construction projects in the Helsinki Infrastructure Programme. What kind of role and team would you be joining? As Construction Site Manager, you will be responsible for your entire site and ensure railway construction progresses as planned, safely, to a high standard and economically. The work particularly emphasises railway superstructure construction, financial management, reporting, procurement and team leadership. You will work closely with the project manager, site supervisors, designers, the client, subcontractors and other project stakeholders. You will lead the project team and act as the line manager for your own team. The role lets you use and develop your railway construction expertise and have a concrete influence on project delivery. Your key responsibilities: • Lead and direct railway superstructure construction. • Manage daily site operations, schedules and resources. • Monitor site finances and costs and report on them. • Plan and carry out procurement in cooperation with procurement. • Direct subcontractors and other partners. • Ensure quality, occupational safety and environmental matters. • Cooperate with clients and stakeholders. • Lead and onboard your team and support its wellbeing. The employment is permanent and begins by agreement. You will work mainly on a Helsinki Infrastructure Programme project. At Destia, you will work on a significant, developing infrastructure programme as part of an experienced team. You will have responsibility and the opportunity to contribute to the project’s success and develop your expertise in railway construction and site management. How can you succeed in the role? Our success is built on our values: honestly, together, renewing and succeeding. Success requires infrastructure-construction experience and the ability to lead the site as a whole towards its objectives. We value a practical and solution-oriented approach, good collaboration skills and the ability to move work forward independently. To succeed, you have: • Experience in infrastructure construction and site management. • Understanding of site production, finances, schedules and resource management. • Experience in procurement and directing subcontractors. • Strong leadership and collaboration skills. • Ability to work smoothly with different stakeholders. • An independent, proactive and solution-oriented approach. • Readiness to use project management and reporting systems. • A desire to develop operations and your own expertise. Tramway construction experience is an advantage. We also value an alliance-oriented approach and the ability to build effective cooperation between different parties. There is no specific education requirement, but technical education and especially infrastructure-construction expertise are considered advantages. What matters most is a responsible, collaborative and practical approach to site management and a desire to get things moving. What we promise at Destia At Destia, you can do work that matters in people’s everyday lives. Together with experts from different fields, we build and maintain infrastructure throughout its lifecycle in teams where everyone’s contribution matters. You can develop your expertise and build a career in a direction that suits you, including internationally as part of the Colas Group. We continually develop our surveying work and use a wide range of technologies. Your colleagues are experienced professionals who are happy to share their expertise. We want people from different backgrounds to find it easy to apply to Destia. We treat one another equally and respectfully, and believe the best solutions arise when people can be themselves at work and bring forward different perspectives. We take responsibility for people, the environment and society through everyday actions. Responsibility is reflected in how we work, care for one another and develop infrastructure that serves people well into the future. What matters most is that Destia employees experience these promises in practice every day. Read more about responsibility and how we work on our website. Interested?
