As a Platform Engineer, you’ll build the internal platform that enables engineering teams to deliver software faster, safer and with greater confidence. With GitOps, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD automation and developer experience, you’ll help shape the tooling, standards and platform capabilities that engineering teams rely on every day. You’ll join our Site Reliability Engineering team, where reliability, automation and developer experience are treated as core engineering priorities. Your work removes friction from software delivery, improves reliability and enables developers to focus on building products instead of managing infrastructure. In this role you will: Design and optimise platform infrastructure that powers Bigbank's services. Build and improve GitOps-based software delivery processes and platform automation. Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve platform and infrastructure issues in production. Improve the scalability, availability and operational efficiency of the platform. Help establish and evolve platform engineering practices across the organisation. Manage the lifecycle of platform services and infrastructure components. Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers and Enterprise Architects by providing platform services, operational guidance and architectural recommendations. Maintain technical documentation that supports reliable operations and knowledge sharing. Contribute to service capacity planning, performance optimisation and operational readiness. Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing and continuous improvement activities. Participate in the team's on-call rotation. You are a true expert in the team when Think in platforms instead of individual solutions. Design infrastructure with automation, reliability and scalability in mind. Build CI/CD pipelines that make software delivery seamless. Advocate Infrastructure as Code and GitOps principles. Take ownership from investigation to implementation. Continuously improve the developer experience through better tooling and automation. Balance delivery speed with security, operational excellence and reliability. Our expectations for you: We believe you'll succeed in this role if you have: at least 3 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering. experience designing and operating GitOps-based software delivery in production. hands-on experience with Git-based workflows and GitLab CI/CD. experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation. experience managing infrastructure and application configuration through version-controlled workflows. strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. a collaborative mindset and willingness to improve engineering practices across teams. hands-on experience with Kubernetes, ArgoCD and Helm.
