Are you looking for the next step in your culinary career in an international and energetic environment? Do you want to lead a kitchen team, develop operations, and be part of the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport buzz? This Sous Chef role at O'Learys kitchen might be just for you. As a Sous Chef at O'Learys, you will serve as the operational support in the kitchen and lead the team in daily tasks alongside the Head Chef. The work environment is fast-paced and varied, set in an airport setting. Your day will involve managing shifts, supporting the team, and ensuring smooth operations – combining practical kitchen work with supervisory responsibilities while developing your skills in high-volume operations. Your daily tasks may include: - Starting the shift: planning production and checking ingredients - Leading lunch or dinner shifts and guiding the team - Working actively in the kitchen with the team - Training and mentoring new employees - Managing raw materials and monitoring waste - Ensuring hygiene and self-monitoring practices - Collaborating with the front of house to ensure a smooth customer experience - Ending the shift and preparing for the next We expect you to have: - At least 2 years of experience in a similar role - Ability to lead by example in daily operations - Good organizational skills and stress tolerance - Proficiency in Finnish and English - Hygiene passport; alcohol service license is an advantage - A positive, proactive, and solution-oriented attitude - A clean background; employment at an airport requires passing a security clearance by the Finnish Security Intelligence Service - Genuine Passion for Passengers attitude and a proactive approach to work We offer: - Permanent employment contract, 90 hours/3 weeks - Salary according to the Hospitality and Tourism sector collective agreement - An international and unique work environment at the airport - Support from an experienced and encouraging team - A diverse and responsible role in kitchen management - Comprehensive onboarding and opportunities for career development Salary is based on the MaRaVa collective agreement and ranges from €15.60 to €16.93 per hour plus additional compensation, depending on experience.
