We are seeking a proactive and independent cook or kitchen professional for the upcoming winter season at our reindeer farm in Luosto. Join us in experiencing authentic Lapland atmosphere and creating memorable culinary experiences for international and domestic guests in an inspiring environment with excellent facilities and a collaborative work community. Our young and energetic team is nearly a dozen members strong during winter, characterized by a strong team spirit. You will primarily work at a 52-seat traditional tent-style restaurant located in the reindeer farm yard, where the season is busy but rewarding. We have been offering program services and restaurant activities at the farm for several decades. Our offerings include reindeer safaris, lunch trips to wilderness cabins, kota dinners, cooking classes, and small-scale cottage catering in the area. The kota has a clean and compact kitchen with storage facilities, making work smooth and practical. We prefer applicants with some experience in the restaurant industry, relevant education, or related skills, but comprehensive training will be provided, so less experience is also acceptable. Our customer base mainly consists of international visitors, so sufficient English language skills are essential. Job duties include hosting kota café in December, preparing kota and wilderness lunches, organizing kota dinners and cooking classes, serving coffee to customer groups, preparing lunches and dinners, preparing Mökki Deli and catering packages, selling reindeer meat and souvenirs, transporting customers and food, maintaining cleanliness and comfort of the premises, managing inventory and placing orders. The work is closely coordinated with guides, with responsibilities for food preparation and restaurant service assistance. The work includes evening shifts up to two nights weekly, otherwise daytime work with reasonable hours. The basic salary starts at 17 EUR/hour depending on experience and skills, with options for shared or individual accommodation or assistance in finding housing in the area.
