The North Ostrobothnia wellbeing services county has a vacancy for a specialist doctor in the Gastroenterology unit within the OYS Surgical services. The specialist doctor’s role includes clinical work as a hospitalist at the Oulu University Hospital, focusing on comprehensive patient care. As a hospitalist, your duties include diagnosing, monitoring, coordinating treatment and discharge of ward patients, optimizing management of common diseases, evaluating overall medication, and coordinating the patient care plan. You will work in collaboration with specialists and closely with various professional groups. A special qualification in palliative medicine is considered an advantage. The eligibility requirement for the specialist doctor position is a license to practice medicine issued under the Act on Healthcare Professionals (559/94) or a permit to work as a doctor, and specialist qualification in a relevant field. Suitable specialties include general medicine, internal medicine, anesthesiology and intensive care, or other relevant specialties. We will verify original diplomas and employment certificates during the interview. Applicants must be registered in the register maintained by the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (Terhikki and/or Suosikki). The selected candidate must provide a medical certificate of health before starting the position (Act on Municipal and Wellbeing Services Personnel, Section 7).
