Job Description Summary\n\nJob Description\nYour Role:\nManage, perform, coordinate, and/or monitor Steam Power site activities.\nPerform on-site installation of systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration after installation.\nRespond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troublesome equipment.\nProvide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer's sites.\nPerform administrative functions such as: writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis.\nSigns off on all changes implemented.\nKnowledge to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment vintage.\nPrepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages.\nEnsure all parts needed for the job are shipped to the site.\nPerform aftermarket upgrades that need to be performed at the site level.\nSupervise critical tasks when these activities are performed by third parties (as measuring, dimensional checks, other considered by the management).\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university with a 3.0 or higher GPA; or a High School Diploma / GED with 4+ years of experience in a Field Services or power generation equipment maintenance role.\nAbility and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience working on customer sites.\nTechnically oriented, fast-learner, self-starter (need people who need little direction, willing to do self-study, self-directed)\nSolid understanding of Steam Turbine Operation and Controlling Parameters OR Steam Boiler Operational Principals\nStrong technical skill in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams dial and laser alignment and thermal growth equipment.\nAdditional Information\nGE Vernova offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
